For a first trip, Sikkim–Darjeeling or Meghalaya are the easiest and most rewarding. Sikkim offers Himalayan views and easy logistics; Meghalaya offers waterfalls, root bridges and the Dawki river. Assam pairs well with either for wildlife.

Most states (Sikkim towns, Meghalaya, Assam) need no permit for Indians. Arunachal Pradesh requires an Inner Line Permit (ILP), and Nathula/North Sikkim need special permits — we arrange all of these for you.

October–April is the most popular window across the region — clear skies and pleasant weather. Meghalaya's waterfalls are most dramatic in the monsoon (June–September), while Sikkim's snow is best December–February.
