Best Time to Visit Lava, Lolegaon & Rishop

October to December is the clearest window and the best chance of a sharp Kanchenjunga sunrise from Tiffin Dara. March to May brings rhododendrons and orchids through the Neora Valley forest. Winter is cold and beautiful, and Lava occasionally gets a light snowfall. Through the peak monsoon the hills are green but views are rare and the roads can be slippery — and note that Neora Valley National Park stays closed for the monsoon months, usually reopening in mid-September.
